Arrive in Venice and transfer to your hotel in Rivarotta Pasiano Pordenone. Once a Benedictine convent dating back to 1000, Villa Luppis was first extended in 1200 by Camaldolese monks. Immersed in a five hectares private park, this elegant country residence is the ideal starting point to discover the Veneto region. Richly decorated in both natural and man-made treasures, its varied landscape ranges from the Venetian lagoon near the Adriatic Sea to rolling hills dotted with world renowned vineyards, and stretching up into the magnificent Dolomites mountain range. Tonight enjoy a welcome drink followed by a gourmet dinner at the hotel. (D)

Just like its world-famous Carnevale, Venice thrives on mystery and awe, from the secret passageways that riddle Gothic Palazzo Ducale, to the esoteric powers of the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, and to Saint Mark’s Basilica, recognized as one of the most refined and accomplished works of Byzantine craftsmanship in the world. This afternoon visit a local winery. See the barrel-stocked cellars and learn about Veneto’s wine history and its typical grape varieties before enjoying a wine tasting session accompanied by homemade appetizers served up with expert insights from your winery host.
